Weight Gain

The Fallacy of Monitoring Weight Gain Through Metabolism

Weight gain and metabolism are not something that you simply inherit through your genes.

Metabolism is the amount of energy required to give you life.  What that means is, the amount of energy to support your digestive system, your organ function, your neurological function...  So, to say that someone has a fast or slow metabolism actually doesn’t make any sense.  There is no clinical validation for that theory whatsoever because it’s not like someone’s metabolism is slow or fast.  It’s just the amount of energy that you need to live.

And the Mayo Clinic, give them credit for this, they have actually gone on
record to say that a slow metabolism is not linked to weight gain.  In fact,
overweight people have a higher metabolism because they require more energy
to live because they’re consuming more food.  So, to say that you have a
slow metabolism:

 a) it doesn’t make sense, and

 b) it’s not the reason why you’re gaining weight.

The reason is a compromised metabolism.

So, the energy that you have in your body… is being converted to do what?
To break down food, to fight off infections, fend off toxins and cleanse the
body.  Most of our bodies are in detox overload because of all the toxins
that we’re putting on our skin, that we are eating, and we are breathing, and we are
drinking.

So, I have found that the number one reason, the number one cause
of metabolic dysfunction is because of toxic overload.

And just simply put, and this is interesting, people can improve - not even
by changing their diet, and not even by changing their exercise habits, but
just by limiting the toxins that they put on their body care, their makeup,
their skin, all that stuff.  They start losing weight because their body is
then able to properly digest and assimilate fat better - like how it should.
Then when you really increase your focus on food and eat the right foods (the
metabolic boosting foods), then it’s kind of like everything - the stars, align.

So, don’t blame your metabolism.  There’s no such thing as a sluggish
metabolism.  It’s not been linked to weight gain.  Own up to what it is that
we’re doing and let’s start minimizing the toxins in our life.  Making your
own body care products or buying the toxic-free stuff, drinking good pure
water, breathing good air; you know getting a good home air purifier is so
important in my opinion because there’s so much toxic mold in most of our
homes that are older than 15, 20 years.  And the aerosols - kick them out of
your house.  Just think about, okay, how can I detox my life?

It can feel very overwhelming to implement new revelation, new understanding.  So, we have to walk in baby steps and go piece by piece by piece.  Maybe it’s just kicking out the hand sanitizer and aerosols, maybe it’s to stop using candles, maybe it’s using a different shampoo without parabens.  You start one-by-one eating more organic food, exercising more and next thing you know, you start studying, getting on newsletters from your favorite health blogs, you start digesting this information.

It’s a wonderful journey; and see it as a journey because it’s going to be
never ending.
